Anthem Electronics launch their long awaited AV receiver range beginning with the new MRX500 and MRX700 in September. Two more models will follow in due course, the MRX300 and MRX900.
Anthem so far have blown the competition out of the water over the last year with their hi-end Statement range of processors and power amplifiers. In a sub £2500 market dominated by asian designed AV amplifiers, their Canadian designed and born MRX range will be a welcome entry.
All four feature the critically acclaimed Anthem Room Correction (ARC) system, this means getting the best from any speaker system and clever adaption to the room's acoustics. 1080p up-conversion of video signals appears on all four plus deep colour support and handling of Dolby True HD, Pro Logic IIz and DTS-HD Master Audio. 3D support will be provided via a future software upgrade.
The MRX300 is expected to be 80w per channel, MRX500 100w, MRX700 120w and the MRX900 at 140w. All driving 7 channels except for the latter which is a 9 channel amplifier.
Provisional pricing at the moment stands at £1600 for the MRX500 and £2100 for the MRX700
